Konga.com Empowers Franchisees and Merchants in Nigeria

Nigeria’s largest online mall, Konga.com’s commitment to deepening commerce and trade in Africa is bearing commendable results as some of its franchisees and merchants have benefited from the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund.

The franchisees and merchants were among the Seven Hundred and Five beneficiaries who received various amounts of money to grow and enhance their businesses.

This is in line with Konga's mission to be the engine of trade and commerce in Africa by empowering indigenous MSME's to reach a wider market across the nation as demonstrated through its strategic collaboration with the Lagos state government thereby helping franchisees and merchants to match with the fast changing technology by providing platforms for them to thrive.

How I Use Feedburner To Auto Post From My Blog To Twitter

I auto post from this Blogger blog to Twitter account of the blog by making use of Feedburner Socialize feature. The service makes it easy to distribute your content to interested subscribers or followers on social networks using any FeedBurner feed you already have. At this time, the Socialize service only supports Twitter.

So, whenever I publish a new post on the blog, the title and a link back to the post automatically gets tweeted on Twitter. This feature utilizes Google URL shortening service to create short versions of my feed links, e.g. http://goo.gl/xyzxyz. And this makes it easy for me to track the clicks via goo.gl

I set it to generate hashtags from labels added to my posts and those hashtags are automatically added to the tweets. There is also an option to add additional text (which can also be an hashtag) at the beginning or end of the post. Inline hash tags are supported too.

If you want to use the service, sign in to feedburner.com and burn a feed for your blog.

If you have an existing feed there for your blog, click on it and click on the "Publicize" tab

Click "Socialize" and add your Twitter account. Once added, set the formatting options as desired and click "Activate".

Fatal error : Allowed Memory Size of 134217728 bytes Exhausted On Wordpress - How I Fixed it

A web page on one of my websites powered by WordPress has not been accessible for some weeks now. So yesterday, I decided to check what might be the cause. I signed in to cPanel, checked the error log and discovered that it has been throwing the php "Allowed memory size error" that reads :

"PHP Fatal error :Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate xx bytes) in /home/xxxxx/public_html/wp-includes/meta.php on line 838"

After googling the error, I discovered that it is one of the common WordPress errors, which can simply be fixed by increasing the memory limit set in the php.ini or  the wp-config.php file.

I changed the limit in wp-config.php from 128M to 512M but failed to resolve the problem.

I set  the cPanel "File Manager" to display hidden files, yet couldn't find the php.ini file. So, I contacted my host to help me increase the memory limit in the php.ini file.

Guess what?

The error was fixed after the support staff increased the memory limit in the php.ini file to 512M.

So, if you can't fix the error by editing the wp-config.php file, try editing the php.ini file.

NB:

1. You can check for errors via file manager, public html > error log.

2. php.ini file is located in cPanel -> File Manager -> public_html folder. If not there, ask your host to add it for you. The support staff told me that he added it to mine by adding the code below to the .htaccess file :

<IfModule mod_suphp.c> suPHP_ConfigPath /home/MycPanelUsername/public_html </IfModule>

enable php ini in web host cpanel folder

I hope this helps.
