How To Hide Blog Archive Widget From Showing On Blogger Website

The Blogger "Blog Archive" widget makes it easy for visitors to navigate Blogspot blogs with links to older posts. It organizes your previously published posts by month week or day, which can be handy for readers who want to browse your older content.

When you create a new blog on Blogspot platform, the blog archive widget displays on all pages of the desktop and mobile views of the blog by default. If you don't want it to display, you can easily delete it.

How?

Sign in to your Blogger dashboard at blogger.com

Click on "Layout"

Scroll down to the section where you have the "Blog Archive" widget

Click on "Edit"

Click "Remove"

Click on "Save Arrangement"

That's all.

If you prefer to just hide it without deleting it, you can use css to get that done. All you need is the widget ID of the blog archive widget.

For example, if the id of my blog archive widget is BlogArchive1, I will add the css code below to my blog's html if I want to hide the widget from displaying on my blog without deleting it :

#BlogArchive1 {
display : none;
}

How To Change The Currency in Facebook Ads Manager

If you use Facebook ads to advertise online, you can easily change the currency in your Facebook ads from US dollars to any other currency e.g Naira. You can get this done easily via your Facebook Ads Account Settings.

How?

>> Sign in to Facebook.com

>> Go to your Facebook ads account settings.

>> Under Time Zone, click "Change Currency / Timezone".

>> Select your new currency and time zone and then click "Create New Account".

That's all.


If the option to change fb ads currency isn't appearing, below are the reasons :

• Your account is unsettled
• You have ads pending review
• You've already changed your currency twice in the past 28 days
• You're looking at an account other than your personal ad account

Things to keep in mind about changing your Facebook ads currency:

• When you choose a new currency and time zone, you'll create a new ad account. Your old ad account will be visible in the Account dropdown in the top left of your Ads Manager, but it'll be closed and all ads created with your old account will stop running. Any ads you had running on the old ad account will be billed in the old currency.
• If your Facebook Business Manager account has several other accounts associated with it, it's not possible to change your currency. You'll need to create a new account from Business Manager with the new currency.
• Your Currency and Business Country must match. For example, if you select Naira as your currency, you should select Nigeria as your country.
• The payment methods available to you depend on the currency you choose.

If you want to advertise on Facebook in Nigeria, I do not recommend changing Facebook ads currency from dollars to Naira. Just leave it as USD. Reason is that you will not be able to pay for your Facebook ads with most Nigerian debit cards out there as most of them do not support the Facebook Naira billing.

How To View WordPress Users Registration Dates and Time

Yesterday, while trying to sort out users of a WordPress-powered membership site, I discovered that users are displayed randomly. I couldn't figure out if they are arranged according to the date they registered on the site as the date they registered on the site wasn't displaying on the users page.

After googling for a solution, I stumbled on the Recently Registered Plugin for WordPress which simply gets the job done for me. This plugin adds a new, sortable, column to the users lists, which shows the date and time they registered. Primarily useful for site which doesn't show this at all.

So, if your WordPress website is a multi-user site, i.e. if you allow user registrations on your WordPress site then you can install the plugin if you would like to sort your users according to their date of registration on your WordPress site.

Kindly note that you can click the small arrow next to "Registered" to toggle the display eg from newly registered members to old members or vice versa.

How To Add BackGround Colour To Facebook Updates

Facebook text-only updates will no longer get lost in the increasingly flashy Facebook feed, thanks to the attention-grabbing features which Facebook has been rolling out recently.

Apart from the ‘big text’ feature that shows words in a larger font if your status is short, Facebook has rolled out a new feature enabling users who post text-only status updates to add background colors to their posts, thereby making the text posts more visual.

The feature lets users select a color that appears behind their text status in place of the normally-white background. Users that make use of this new feature can now easily make their updates stand out in a way that will make people pay attention to the updates, without having to use images or profanities.

As at the time of publishing this, only Android users of Facebook mobile app will be able to post Facebook posts with colored backgrounds, but everyone on iOS, Android, and web will be able to see them in the News Feed. Hopefully, it will be rolled out on all platforms, globally soonest.
