How To Cancel PayPal Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)

PayPal Dynamic Currency Conversion simply lets PayPal to complete your transactions using your card's currency. This simply means if you link a Naira debit card (Mastercard or Visa) to your PayPal account and use the PayPal account to purchase from a seller whose products are listed in US dollars, PayPal conversion rate will be used to bill your Naira card instead of the MasterCard and Visa currency conversion rate.

Unfortunately, there are cards issued by some banks which do not support this conversion process. If you've linked such cards to your PayPal account and you try using the PayPal account to pay online, the payment will likely fail.

So, if you get "Your payment method isn't working. Do you want to try again with another card or bank?" error when trying to make payment online, this is likely the reason why you are getting that error. GTBank MasterCard is one of those Nigerian cards that do not support DCC.


So, what's the way out? 

>> Disable Dynamic Currency Conversion in your PayPal account.

How?

Sign in to your PayPal account.

Then, click here.

Click on the "Conversion Options" link

Select the second option : "Bill me in the currency listed on the seller's invoice"

Click "Submit"

Click "Save".

You can now try to make payment with your PayPal account.

Frozen Adsense Earnings Now Fixed

I woke up this morning to discover that information in Adsense has stopped updating. Adsense earnings was just static at $0.00. Some bloggers called my phone to ask if I was experiencing same while some were busy tagging me on Facebook just to know if I've noticed same.

How To Get Availability Code for CAC Business or Company Registration

Go to CAC login portal :

You will see list of your approved business names

Click on the "Action" button and click on "view payment history"

You will be prompted to save  the pdf file. Save it to where you can easily find it. 

Once download completes, open the pdf file. 

The serial number is your availability code. 

You can now go back to the registration tab, enter the availability code, to complete your company or business name registration. 

Kindly note that your approved business name will be reserved for 60 (Sixty) days.

Why Your Amazon Associates Account Was Closed And How To ReOpen It

I've just logged into my Amazon Associates Account, which I haven't done for a while, only to discover that it has been closed. I saw the notice below, after I signed in to the account :

This account is closed and will not generate referrals. Access to this site is for historical purposes only.
Before we can pay you, we must have your Tax Information, Note that only the primary account holder can enter this information. Any update to Tax Information after 15th in this month will be in effect, only from next month. Please ignore this message if tax information is already submitted.

I've googled why my Amazon Associates account was closed and I realized that it was closed simply because I missed the COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) email that Amazon sent to me last year.

In the email, I was required to declare that none of my sites are directed at children under 13 and it was clearly stated in it, that accounts that fail to complete the declaration by October 31, 2015 will be closed.

If you also missed the mail and didn't take the required action, I can bet that is the reason why your account was closed. You can search your mail for "Child Directed Policy" to confirm.

How To Reopen Amazon Associates Account That Was Closed

The Amazon associates account cannot be reinstated but you can reapply by creating new amazon associates account with all the same login details including same email and billing address. You will be issued a new associate ID though.

I now have to pay better attention to my emails. lol.
