If you've opted for online business registration at Corporate Affairs Commission Nigeria website, you will need an availability code for you to be able to complete the registration process after your company or business name might have been approved by CAC.  The availability code is clearly printed on the approval note which you will have to download from the CAC portal. 

So, in this blog post, I want to guide you on steps to take to download your CAC approval note so you can get the availability code needed for the completion of your online business registration. 

How To Download CAC Approval Note

Go to CAC login portal : 

Click on "Sign in"

Enter your username & password and click on "Log In"

Click on "Name Search" tab

Click on "My Reservation History" tab

You will see list of your approved business names

Click on the "Action" button and click on "view payment history"

You will be prompted to save  the pdf file. Save it to where you can easily find it. 

Once download completes, open the pdf file. 

The serial number is your availability code. 

You can now go back to the registration tab, enter the availability code, to complete your company or business name registration. 

Kindly note that your approved business name will be reserved for 60 (Sixty) days.

Why Your Amazon Associates Account Was Closed And How To ReOpen It

I've just logged into my Amazon Associates Account, which I haven't done for a while, only to discover that it has been closed. I saw the notice below, after I signed in to the account :

Before we can pay you, we must have your Tax Information, Note that only the primary account holder can enter this information. Any update to Tax Information after 15th in this month will be in effect, only from next month. Please ignore this message if tax information is already submitted.

I've googled why my Amazon Associates account was closed and I realized that it was closed simply because I missed the COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) email that Amazon sent to me last year.

In the email, I was required to declare that none of my sites are directed at children under 13 and it was clearly stated in it, that accounts that fail to complete the declaration by October 31, 2015 will be closed.

If you also missed the mail and didn't take the required action, I can bet that is the reason why your account was closed. You can search your mail for "Child Directed Policy" to confirm.

How To Reopen Amazon Associates Account That Was Closed

The Amazon associates account cannot be reinstated but you can reapply by creating new amazon associates account with all the same login details including same email and billing address. You will be issued a new associate ID though.

I now have to pay better attention to my emails. lol.

ERROR: please fill the required fields (name, email) : How I Solved It

Yesterday, I was able to figure out why I've not been getting comments lately on one of my sites powered by WordPress which normally do get lots of comments daily. I never knew readers couldn't comment on the blog posts not until I tried to reply to some comments from the front end.

I discovered that whenever users, not logged in, attempt to post comment, they get the error:

“Error: please fill the required fields (name, email)” 

This comment submission failure error message displays even if you fill in the name and email fields.

I googled the error and read on some blogs that plugins like OpenID, JetPack etc were disabled to fix the error.

As for me, I was able to fix the problem by deactivating Hide My WP plugin.

So, if you are experiencing similar problem and you don't know what might be causing the WordPress comment submission error, one of the activated plugins might be the cause. Do the needful!

A public search form has been integrated into CAC Nigeria online portal, to enable anyone search CAC records for registered incorporated trustees, company or business names and those undergoing business registration.

If you want to register your company or business name with CAC Nigeria, you can also use the CAC public name search portal to check if your proposed business name has been registered by someone else or not.

How To Use CAC Public Name Search Form

• Tick the "I'm not a robot" and solve the captcha if prompted

If you enter a registered company name in the CAC online search form, the search result will display the company registration number, the company name, company address and date of incorporation (registration).
